We bring the real world into your office
What we capture on site fits exactly onto the aerial photo and the map in the WebGIS. The film shows this at our own office building in Rostock.

In figures
This much data we already maintain in the WebGIS
All stocks of our customers together, as of September 2026.
- 33,428 trees in the tree register
- 152,831 documented tree inspections
- 54,351 captured outdoor areas
- 4,077 parking spaces
- 1,474 management units (Wirtschaftseinheiten)
Problems you may know
Housing companies come to us with these concerns.
-
Proving tree inspections
After a storm, someone asks when the tree was last inspected. The list is somewhere in Excel.
-
Areas for the tender
Green area maintenance or winter service is to be awarded again, but nobody knows the exact lawn, bed and path areas.
-
Overview of the stock
Properties, parking spaces and outdoor facilities are in spreadsheets, plans and in the heads of individual employees.
This is what it looks like
One map for everyone in the company
The GOLNIK WebGIS shows your properties, trees and outdoor facilities on the official map and on the aerial photo. Administration, technical staff and caretakers work with the same data.
- In the browser and outside on the tablet, with no installation
- Official cadastral map (Liegenschaftskarte) and aerial photo included
- We take care of setup, hosting and maintenance
Tree register
Record tree inspections so that you can prove them
As the owner, you have the duty to maintain safety (Verkehrssicherungspflicht) for your trees. If damage occurs, what counts is whether you can prove regular inspections. A tree register makes this easy.
- Every tree with its location and condition on the map
- Record inspections with date and findings on site on a tablet
- Coloured status at a glance: inspected, not inspected, action needed
- Take over existing tree lists or let us capture the trees
- Inspected 4 trees
- Not inspected 2 trees
- Action needed 2 trees
Example from our demo
Outdoor area register
Know your outdoor areas exactly: for tenders and service charges
If you put green area maintenance or winter service out to tender, or pass costs on to tenants, you need reliable areas for each management unit. We measure lawns, beds, paths and parking spaces on site and set them up as a green area register in the WebGIS.
- Areas by type of use and management unit
- Square metres as a basis for specifications of work and service charges
- Measured on site instead of estimated from old plans
- Buildings 623 m²
- Parking spaces 488 m²
- Paths and squares 476 m²
- Planted areas 316 m²
- Other areas 98 m²
- Winter service 162 m
Example from our demo: one management unit with 2,002 m²
Properties
Your whole stock on one map
Properties, management units, buildings and parking spaces in one place, instead of spread over Excel, CAD and paper. The official cadastral map is included.
- Parcels and buildings from the official land cadastre (Liegenschaftskataster)
- Objects such as manholes, lights, charging points and bicycle stands with their location
- Several employees work with the same data at the same time
- Manholes and drains 23
- Bicycle stands 14
- Charging points 8
- Other objects 8
- Water valves and hydrants 7
- Lights 6
Example from our demo: 66 objects on one management unit

Surveying from one firm
No digital data? We capture it.
As a surveying firm, we capture trees, areas and boundaries on site and include the official cadastral data. So software and surveying come from one firm.
Common questions, answered briefly
- Do we need to install anything?
- No. The WebGIS runs in the browser and on our server. If you prefer, we can also set it up on your own server.
- What about our data?
- We can usually take over lists from Excel and plans from CAD.
- Who takes care of running it?
- We take care of setup and ongoing maintenance. If the WebGIS runs on our server, we also take care of hosting.
Prices
What does it cost for your stock?
Put together your own package: one basic package and the modules you need. How many trees or areas you manage does not change the monthly price. We offer capture on site and taking over your data separately.

Frequently asked questions
What does a WebGIS actually do for a housing company?
A WebGIS brings together all location-based information about your properties, buildings and outdoor facilities in one central place. You can use it from anywhere in the browser. Several employees work at the same time with the same data, which is always up to date. This makes administrative processes leaner, documents your stock and lets you create analyses quickly. You can look at an example with no obligation in our demo for housing companies (in German).
Do we need special software or IT skills to use the WebGIS?
No. The WebGIS runs completely in the browser. You do not need an installation or your own GIS software. We take care of setup, hosting and ongoing maintenance for you. Your employees only need internet access and their login details.
Can we take over existing data from Excel, CAD or our property management software?
Usually yes. We read in your existing data from common formats and prepare it. In this way, scattered spreadsheets, plans and inventory lists become one consistent geographic information system that you can search. Whether and how your data can be taken over, we are happy to clarify in the meeting.
How do we find out the areas for garden care and winter service in the service charges?
To tender, bill or split garden care and winter service across several buildings, you need the real areas for each property unit. We survey lawns, beds, paths and winter service areas on site and add them to the WebGIS. There you see the square metres by type of use and property unit, instead of estimating them from old plans.
How do we find out the sealed areas for the rainwater fee?
Many municipalities charge the rainwater fee by the built-up and paved area of a property. We survey roofs, paths, yards and parking spaces on site together with their surface, for example asphalt, paving or grass pavers, and calculate the sealed area for each property and property unit. This lets you check fee notices and split the costs correctly.
How often do the trees on our properties have to be inspected?
There is no fixed interval set by law. How often a tree is inspected depends on its age, condition and location. The German FLL tree inspection guideline is the common standard. What matters is that every inspection is recorded with date and findings. In the WebGIS you see at a glance which trees are due next.
Is a housing company required by law to keep a tree register?
There is no explicit legal duty to keep a tree register. As the owner, however, you have the duty to maintain safety (Verkehrssicherungspflicht, § 823 BGB): the trees on your properties must be inspected regularly to prevent danger. A tree register is the recognised way to organise these inspections and document them so that you can prove them.
How does a green area or tree register help with the duty to maintain safety?
The register records your trees and green areas with location, condition, inspection intervals and the measures carried out. You can then plan upcoming inspections and maintenance and prove them without gaps. If damage occurs, you can show that you have met your duty to maintain safety.
Would you rather talk directly?
We are happy to answer your questions about the WebGIS, also without a meeting.
